What Is a Speed Oven?

Posted on: May 24, 2013

If you have a small kitchen and want to remodel to a more efficient, space-saving kitchen design, you may want to consider a speed oven. A speed oven, which is essentially a built-in microwave plus extra abilities, is a great feature for any kind of kitchen, especially smaller spaces.

Speed Oven: A Multi-Functional, Space-Saving Appliance

A speed oven can be built into cabinetry or a wall and, therefore, saves space. It also offers a sleek, modern look—many people prefer it over a traditional oven and over-the-range microwave. A speed oven has three functions:

  • Microwave
  • Bake
  • Broil

In fact, a speed oven eliminates the need for both a microwave and oven—for those who don’t have a lot of large-food cooking needs. While you can’t fit a Thanksgiving turkey in a speed oven (which is a lot smaller than a traditional oven), you can still bake, broil, cook, defrost, and reheat just about anything.

Miele Speed Ovens

We often incorporate Miele speed ovens into our kitchen designs, and speed ovens by this top manufacturer offer a lot of benefits.

The oven has a convection mode and browning element, offering you all the functions you need for roasting and baking, just on a smaller scale. Probably the greatest advantage of the speed oven is that you can cook exclusively via a microwave and convection baking modes or select optional programs that combine the two!

Think of it this way—you have the convenience of defrosting, cooking, and baking all in one space-saving, multi-functional appliance.

Jack Rosen doesn’t purchase and install appliances for you, but we can advise you on convenient, space-saving appliances, recommend certain products, and include such appliances (like a speed oven!) in your kitchen design if you’re completely remodeling.

Award-Winning Kitchen Design Services

Although upgrading appliances isn’t quite the same as updating your countertops or cabinetry, new appliances can give your kitchen a new feel—especially modern, space-saving ones like speed ovens.
